Why LOUPE?

At LOUPE, we see design as more than just aesthetics — it’s a lens to magnify the meaningful. Much like a loupe (it means 'magnifying glass'), we aim to take a closer look at the world, zeroing in on the issues and amplifying voices that often go unheard.

By focusing on thoughtful design, we work to create real, lasting impact. We aim to do so through empathy and innovation - crafting solutions that resonate deeply, bridging gaps and empowering communities to create positive social change.

Our Values

At LOUPE, our values shape every project, guiding us toward work that resonates deeply and makes a real difference. Rooted in the Confucian principles of Authenticity, Kindness and Beauty, these values inspire us to create thoughtfully and authentically.

We believe in transparency in all that we do. By grounding our work in truth and authenticity, we ensure that each design choice, recommendation, and solution is rooted in purpose to achieve its true aim and goal.

Empathy drives us. We design with people in mind, aiming to create experiences that improve lives and inspire positive interactions. Kindness isn’t just a value—it’s how we connect well with our audience and partners.

Kindness (Shan)

Beauty goes beyond aesthetics; it’s in meaningful, purposeful design. We create with intention, crafting designs that look good and have a profound impact. To us, true beauty is design that serves a greater purpose.

LOUPE started with this simple idea:
to bring purpose into every pixel, every interaction, and every project, so our work leaves the world just a little bit better.

2014

Like any young studio, we hit challenges early on. However, those moments helped us grow. We quickly recognised that beyond campaigns, clients were looking for meaningful experiences.

That insight led us to specialise in UX—and shaped the direction of everything we’ve done since.

2016

2017

We expanded into film production to support our clients’ growing content needs - storytelling through motion and sound.

That same year, we also established a team in Indonesia, strengthening our regional capabilities and laying the groundwork for cross-border collaboration across Southeast Asia. We ate so much mee bakso that year.

We expanded rapidly into Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam - bringing our work closer to the communities we serve.

To support growing demand, we also set up a print and paper production facility in Taiwan, allowing us to manage quality directly while keeping costs efficient for our regional clients.

2018

We grew our footprint into Cambodia and scaled up our teams to keep pace with demand.

Our event work also took off that year, supporting regional activations across Southeast Asia. It was a year of growth, logistics, and long nights - we played hard and worked harder.

2022

The pandemic hit hard. Projects paused, plans changed, and we had to make difficult decisions. Still, we held on - keeping our teams in Singapore, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

It was a humbling year, but also a reminder of why we started: to build something resilient, human, and worth holding onto.

2020

Growth returned—slowly but surely. We’re grateful for the clients who continued to believe in us, project after project.

This year, we also began integrating AI into our work—not to replace creativity, but to support it. At LOUPE, ideas still begin and end with people.

2019

We added software engineering to our capabilities—transforming from a UX studio into a full-fledged development house.

What we design, we can now build. While UX remains our foundation, this leap lets us deliver end-to-end solutions with greater impact, agility, and depth. (Yes, we have Scrum Masters now too!)

LOUPE began as a small collective of creatives with roots in big advertising, tech, and marketing. We’d spent years moving fast - delivering, pitching, shipping.

However, we wanted something more intentional. Something built on collaboration, clarity, and meaningful outcomes. That’s how LOUPE began: agile by design, purposeful at heart… even if the name was thought up in a toilet.

Now we’re here—and we’re only just getting started.

2025

We celebrated 10 years of LOUPE - an unexpected milestone that reminded us how far we’ve come.

What started as a small collective has grown into a regional team with big ideas, strong partnerships, and a clear sense of purpose.
